Properties and booking details
In all cases, we ask for a booking fee of £30 per week or less, or £4.00 per day for bookings over a week. Payment thereafter is made in euros, in cash, directly to the owner or caretaker of the property. Details will be sent on confirmation of the booking. This new arrangement has enabled us to keep prices down, to avoid problems of the fluctuating exchange rate, and to offer properties further afield
Valle Gran Rey
Our first love, and probably the best place to start, as it combines good weather, amazing walking and a wide range of bars, restaurants and alternative entertainment.
| Casa Isabel
|
Owned by Ana, our first and favourite owner, Isabel has a bedroom with small double and large single bed, a shower with lavatory, a kitchen with small dining table, and a delightfully secluded terrace. The property is fairly basic, but Anas welcome more than compensates for any shortcomings |

San Sebastian
The island's capital and business centre. Convenient if you don't want to drive, as all buses start and finish here.
| Apartamentos La Hila
|
A small block of six apartments
within easy walking distance of the port
but relatively quiet
as it is in a small side alley. The building consists of 4 apartments and 2
big attic apartments. Each consists of a living room with sofa bed, a
kitchen unit, a separate bedroom and a bathroom. The apartments have
balconies, whereas the spacious duplex flats, which extend over two floors,
have separate terraces. There is a large common terrace on the rooftop with
beautiful views over San Sebastian and beyond. Both apartments and duplex
flats sleep 2-3. |
40 per day, apartment 48 per day, duplex 7 per day surcharge over Christmas and Easter |
Las Hayas and El Cercado
Two of the high mountain villages - about 1,000 metres - which can be reached on foot from Valle Gran Rey. Cooler than settlements nearer the coast, and more likely to be affected by low cloud, they nonetheless offer a wide range of less precipitous walking and a great chance to experience the local way of life. All properties here have some form of heating.
| Casa los Cavecitos
|
A cluster of four apartments in Las Hayas, three sleeping two people in a twin-bedded room, and one for six with one twin and one four-bedded room. Nicely furnished and set back from the road with a garden in front, they are owned and looked after by Amparo from the nearby bar. Excellent for a large group who prefer to keep apart from the more populous resorts. |
40 per day, two person apartment 90 per day, six person apartment |
| Casa Sol
|
A self-contained house sleeping up to six people with one double and two twin bedrooms. Easily accessible, but away from the main road, it is owned by Rufina, one of the traditional potters of El Cercado. It offers a true taste of local life while being close to all amenities. |
45 per day |
| Casa Luna
|
Near to Casa Sol, and also owned by Rufina, Casa Luna sleeps up to five with one double, one twin and one single bedroom. Both houses have small living rooms, all normal facilities and plenty of space to sit outside |
40 per day |
Hermigua
In the days before mass tourism, Hermigua and the other settlements in the north were the prosperous face of La Gomera, and they still have a wealth of banana plantations and vineyards. Hermigua, in the north-east, is a half-hour drive from San Sebastian, but the pace of life is more relaxed. Good for walking, but also for swimming or fishing if you fancy a change.
| Casa Lomo
|
The last 200m of tortuous road are justified by Casa Lomo's amazing views over the valley below and out to sea. English owned, this self-contained house has been restored to a high standard and has one double bedroom | 45 per day, one week minimum unsuitable for the infirm or children under 10 |
